Spring Trek Sydney was the brain child of Alex Shirley, Jessica Hatherall and Kirk Marcolina.  In 2015 they saw a gap in the trekking market – there were a number of 50km and 100km events, but there was no challenging trek that could be completed in daylight hours – thus Spring Trek Sydney was created – an 18 or 30km trek for teams of four on the stunning National Park trails.

The trek was, and is, aimed at corporates to inspire health and fitness, promote camaraderie and teamwork, foster an appreciation of Sydney’s National Parks and to raise funds for Room to Read.  In the inaugural year the trek was capped at 50 teams and raised a $100,000+.  The ongoing financial objective of Spring Trek Sydney is to create a sustainable and steadily growing revenue stream for Room to Read each year.  In 2017 we aim to have 100 teams and raise $250,000.
